On Saturday, June 28th, the Hillsborough Republican Club joined in the fun at the Township's annual Independence Day Fireworks celebration.

On hand for the event were Township Committee candidates Gloria McCauley and Mayor Anthony Ferrera as well as US Senate candidate Dick Zimmer and 7th Congressional District candidate Leonard Lance. Dick Zimmer and Leonard Lance took time out from their hectic schedules to support the local Township Committee candidates and meet and greet the voters.

Peter Palmer, incumbent Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholder candidate, also stopped by to meet voters and lend support.

As a special treat, the booth sponsored a clown who painted the faces of hundreds of kids as their parents chatted with the candidates and picked up campaign literature.

Our thanks go out to the Township Committee and theTownship’s Parks and Recreation Department for a superb event. The Independence Day fireworks, the Memorial Day Veterans Breakfast, and Memorial Day Parade and Garden of Honor ceremonies show the enthusiasm and dedication of the elected officials and employees of the Township. Maybe this is part of why Hillsborough is one of the 100 Best Places to Live in these great United States!

Ms. McCauley served on the Charter Study Commission that reviewed the township's existing form of government. Gloria was the largest vote-getter from among a group of more than 12 candidates for the commission.
