Voter Registration


Are you a U.S. citizen? Will you be at least 18 years old on or before the next election? Have you lived at your present address for at least 30 days? Then you are eligible1 to register to vote in New Jersey.

Registration is simple. Just get a copy of the Voter Registration Form, complete it, and send it to:

You can also get a copy of the form at the Hillsborough Township Building or at any New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) offices. For information about voter registration, call the Somerset County Board of Elections at (908) 231-7084.


Absentee Voting


If you are a registered voter, it is your right and obligation to vote. If you can't get to the Polls on Election Day, you can request an Absentee Ballot or get one on-line. It's simple. Mail or bring the completed form to:

Mail requests for an absentee ballot must be postmarked no later than seven (7) days prior to the election for which they are being requested. Registered voters can also apply in person for an absentee ballot up until 3 p.m. the day before the election.

If you are not sure where to vote, check the information on your sample ballot as shown in the example. Sample ballots are mailed out about a week in advance of an election to the address on file with the Somerset County Clerk.

  • Districts 9, 11 -- Amsterdam School, Amsterdam Drive

  • Districts 15, 24 -- Auten Road School, Auten Road

  • Districts 6, 12, 16 -- Hillsborough Middle School, Triangle Road

  • Districts 4, 17 -- Hillsborough School, Rt. 206 & Amwell Road

  • Districts 2, 13, 14, 30 -- Mary Mother of God Church, S. Triangle Road

  • Districts 10, 21, 23, 26, 29 -- Municipal Building, Amwell Rd. & Beekman Lane

  • Districts 1, 28 -- Neshanic Reformed Church, Amwell & River Roads

  • Districts 5, 7 -- Sunnymead School, Sunnymead Road

  • District 8 -- Woodfern School, Woodfern Road

  • Districts 18, 22 -- Woods Road School, South Woods Road

  • Districts 20, 25, 27 -- Volunteer Fire Co. #3, Woods Road

  • Districts 3, 19, 31 -- YMCA, Amwell & South Branch Roads
