Frank DelCore
Hillsborough Township Mayor
Frank DelCore was selected unanimously by his colleagues to serve as Mayor again in 2010.
Mayor DelCore, who served as Mayor in 2009, previously served as Deputy Mayor, liaison to the Planning Board and the Hillsborough Sustainability Committee. He has also served the community in the past as a member of the Capital Planning Committee, Recreation Commission and Grants and Shared Services Commission.
He also proudly coaches the girl’s softball as part of the Recreation Dept’s softball program.
Mayor DelCore has lived in Hillsborough since 2001 with his wife Renee, and their two daughters Rebecca and Kristin. He holds an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management, along with a BA Degree in Communications, also from Rutgers University.
Mayor DelCore is a finance professional currently employed by Alcatel Lucent in Murray Hill, NJ as a Director in the Treasury Department, responsible for all Trade and Project Finance and Credit for all North American clients. Prior to joining Alcatel Lucent, he was a Vice President for Fleet Bank in NJ
Gloria McCauley
Hillsborough Township Deputy Mayor
Gloria McCauley was recently chosen as Deputy Mayor at the 2010 Reorganization Meeting and was appointed to her second term on the Finance Committee. Deputy Mayor McCauley serves as liaison to the following Boards and Commissions: Economic and Business Development Commission, Hillsborough-Millstone Municipal Alliance, Parks Commission, Recreation Commission, Senior Citizen Housing Council, Sign Review Committee and Sustainable Hillsborough Committee.
Prior to being elected to the Township Committee in 2008, Deputy Mayor McCauley, a 20 year Hillsborough resident and local businesswoman, served as an elected member of the Township’s Charter Study Commission in 2007.
Anthony Ferrera
Hillsborough Township Committeeman
Anthony Ferrera was reelected in November 2008 as Committeeman and will serve through 12-31-2011. Previously, he served as Mayor for two consecutive years.
A Hillsborough resident since 1991, Anthony Ferrera holds Master of Science degree from Stevens Institute of Technology. He has worked for AT&T, for nearly 20 years, in a multitude of management positions (Industry Marketing, Strategic Partnerships and Finance) with his main focus in developing strategic business relationships and pursuing market opportunities, through various industry and market sectors.
Community minded since early on, Anthony Ferrera brings to his post over 25 years of volunteer experience, teaching, coaching and fundraising with the Special Olympics in Somerset County and the Organization for Autism Research. He now serves on the board of directors of OAR (Organization for Autism Research) and is the Fundraising Chairman for New Jersey OAR.
Anthony Ferrera, and a team of local volunteers whom he has worked with over the years, have begun a two-part quest to create greater autism awareness. The program includes holding quarterly socials and free educational session for parents of children with autism, holding events for the children, and, ultimately, to raising the critical funds needed for autism research.
After serving on the Township’s Economic and Business Development Commission in 2003, he was appointed to the Hillsborough Township Committee in March, 2004. He was elected to an unexpired term in November of that year and re-elected to a three year term in November, 2005. He served as Deputy Mayor in 2006 and Mayor in 2007 and 2008.
Anthony Ferrera has been a leader in the effort to develop business growth in Hillsborough, in order gain additional business taxpayers thereby helping to move some of the property tax burden off of homeowners. He has also taken the lead in the region to gain funding for passenger rail service to serve Hillsborough.
He is a strong advocate for Hillsborough’s senior citizens and military veterans. He also led the expansion of the annual Independence Day fireworks program into a very successful and well attended Family Fun Day in the Township on the weekend preceding July 4th.
Committeeman Ferrera serves as liaison to the following: Public Safety, Courts, Legal, Adminstration, Planning, Zoning, Public Works, Engineering, Construction, Agricultural Advisory Committee, Board of Education, Cultural & Arts Commission, GSA Parks and Recreation, Historic Preservation.
Carl Suraci
Hillsborough Township Committeeman
Carl and his family have lived in Hillsborough since 1994. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and from Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University with an M.B.A.
Carl was first elected to the Township Committee in 2003. He served as Deputy Mayor in 2005 and as Mayor in 2006 as well as on the Planning Board. Prior to his election, he served on the Recreation Commission.
Committeeman Suraci currently serves on the Finance Committee and Personnel Committee and is liaison to the the following Boards and Commissions: Cable Advisory, Credit Card Advisory Committee, Library Council, Parks Commission, Recreation Commission and Youth Services Commision.
Bob Wagner
Hillsborough Township Committeeman
Bob Wagner was recently re-elected to another three year term on November 3, 2009. He currently serves as Committeeman and has previously served as Committeeman in 2003 and 2006-2008, Deputy Mayor in 2004 and 2009 and as Mayor in 2005. Bob and his family have lived in Hillsborough for over fourteen years.
He graduated with a B.S. in Communications and Psychology from Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia.
Bob is employed by Comcast Cable.
Bob is an active member of the Hillsborough Township C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) and is a fire police member.
Bob currently serves as liaison to the Board of Adjustment, Planning Board, Capital Planning Committee, Environmental Commission, Open Space Advisory Committee, MUA, Tree Mitigation, Personnel Committee, Veterans Committe and Wildlife Commission. Bob also serves as liaison to the Township's Public Safety offices.
Kip Bateman
New Jersey Senator
Kip Bateman was born in Somerville and attended public schools in Somerset County. He graduated from Ithaca College with a B.A. in history and political science in 1980. He also is a graduate of Seton Hall Law School, and in 1987, was admitted to the bar. Currently he is a partner with the law firm of DiFrancesco, Bateman, Coley, Yospin, Kunzman, Davis and Lehrer, P.C.
Kip has served the 16th District in the Legislature since January 1994. He was Assistant Majority Whip from 1994-1995 and 2002-present, and was Majority Whip in 1996. His appointments include the Task Force to Study Homeowner Association from 1996-1997 and the Delaware and Raritan Transportation Safety Study Commission from 1995-1996. Other public service includes serving on the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 1988-1994. In 1990 and 1991 he was Deputy Director, and in 1992, he served as Director of the Chosen Freeholders. He also was a member of the Branchburg Township Committee from January 1983 to February 1988, and was Mayor in 1986. He also served on the Branchburg Township Planning Board in 1985 and 1986.
In addition, Assemblyman Bateman is a member of the following community organizations: the Home Sharing Program of Somerset County, Special Olympics New Jersey, Branchburg Rotary Club, Midland Foundation, Somerville Elks, Somerset Medical Center, Branchburg Historical Society, Washington Campgrounds Association, Somerset Public Employees Charitable Campaign, United Way and the New Brunswick Theological Seminary Board of Trustees.
Senator Bateman has sponsored laws reducing auto insurance premium costs for policy holders, allowing tax filers to contribute a portion of their income tax refund to support the Drug Abuse Education Fund (DARE) program and creating a grant program to provide thermal imaging cameras to fire departments and companies throughout the state.
Senator Bateman and his wife have four children. He is the son of former Assemblyman, Senator and 1977 gubernatorial candidate Raymond H. Bateman.
Pete Biondi
New Jersey Assemblyman
Six term Assemblyman Peter J. Biondi was born in Newark on June 23, 1942 and is a graduate of Union High School. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1961 to 1967. Assemblyman Biondi serves as the Assembly Republican Conference Leader.
From 1994 to 1997, the assemblyman was a Somerset County freeholder and served terms as deputy director in 1995, and as director in 1996. He was a Hillsborough committeeman from 1983 to 1984, deputy mayor in 1985 and mayor from 1986 to 1993. He also served on the Hillsborough planning board from 1986 to 1998.
Legislation Assemblyman Biondi has sponsored includes the following: a measure to fund farmland preservation, to create a housing program to assist seniors and persons with disabilities, to restrict door-to-door sales by minors, to purchase thermal imaging cameras to assist firefighters, to provide flood relief to victims of Hurricane Floyd and to provide additional penalties for persons who are convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs if they have a passenger in their car who is under 18 years of age.
Assemblyman Biondi has served on a number of community organization boards including the Somerset County Open Space Trust, the Somerset Alliance for the Future and the Industrial Pollution Control Financing Authority. He is a past co-chairman of the Somerset County Youth Services Commission and a past president of the Somerset County Governing Officials Association. He also has volunteered with the Jewish Federation, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and the March of Dimes.
He and his wife Joan married in 1965 and have two children, Peter and Jennifer.
Denise Coyle
New Jersey Assemblywoman
Assemblywoman Coyle is a graduate of St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, cum laude, and received her law degree from Rutgers University.
She joined the Freeholder Board in January 1996 after four years as a Township Committeewoman and Mayor in Branchburg. She has served as Freeholder Director and Deputy Director.
Denise spearheaded two Economic Development Summits which resulted in award-winning, regionally focused Smart Growth initiatives.
She is economic development chair with the Somerset County Business Partnership; a founding member of the Regional Center Partnership of Somerset County and the county’s Economic Development Incentive Program; a past president of the Somerset County Governing Officials Association; and a member of the Somerset County Federation of Republican Women.
Denise is the recipient of the Diversity Award-Government from the Somerset County Cultural Diversity Coalition; the Outstanding Women in Somerset County Award-Government, from the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women; the Rolling Hills Girl Scout Council Woman of Achievement Award; and the Millicent Fenwick Award for Distinguished Public Service.
She and her husband Dennis have two daughters and live in Bernards Township.
